A Steam Moist Chocolate Cake!
I told myself i must give it a try.
Everyday bake, bake, bake....
How nice to have a cake without the helping hand from hot oven but using the steaming method.
Really keen to have a go!
Immediately i took action and here is the result...
Yum! Yum!! Yum!!!
No wonder Tintin graded this cake as 5 stars *****cake.
Recipe from TinTin.
Ingredient:
- (A) 180 g butter, 200 g caster sugar (i only used 160g), 200 g full cream evaporated milk (i used light evaporated milk), 1/2tsp vanilla extract & 2tbsp of rum (optional)
- (B) 2 eggs, slightly beaten with fork.
- (C) 100 g plain flour, 50 g cocoa powder, 1/2 tsp baking powder, 1/2 tsp baking soda.
Method:
- Combine (A) in a saucepan. Stir over low heat until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted, turn off the fire and keep warm.
- Add (B) into (1) and stir till well mix.
- Sift (C) into a large mixing bowl, then pour the eggs mixture (2) over the flour and stir till well mix (cake batter should be runny).
- Heat up the steamer.
- lined 8 inch round baking pan.
- Pour the batter into the lined pan and place the pan into the steamer.
- Cover the top of the pan loosely with a piece of aluminium foil.
- Steam over medium heat for 45 mins.
- Cool the cake in pan before turning out for further decoration.
For frosting, I just used 100g of dark cooking chocolate (melted in the microwave) and add in 4tbsp of fresh milk, stir well and pour over the top of cake. Chill in fridge before served.
@@ An easy way of preparing a cake without oven & mixer. A must try recipe. Next time will try this recipe for small cup cakes. Save steaming time. @@

ReplyDeletejiunmei,会湿湿黏黏和洞孔粗大是还没完全熟透吧?还有洞孔大,我想是应该在搅拌时没有拌匀。至于那个电子蒸炉,我没有用过。或许你能用普通蒸锅再试一次,看看是否成果一样。
